Which personal data will be collected as part of the application process and for which purpose?
If you apply electronically, i.e. via e-mail or using our online form, we will collect and process your personal data for the purpose of executing the application process and to check your suitability for the position. By submitting an application via our recruitment website or via email, you show that you are interested in working for our company. In this context, you transmit personal data, which we will be used and stored exclusively for the purpose of your application process.
On which legal basis does this happen?
The legal basis for the processing of your personal data in this application process is primarily § 26 BDSG (version applicable from May 25, 2018). According to this, the processing of all data is permitted, that is necessary to come to a decision on the establishment of an employment relationship.
Should the data be required for legal prosecution after the application process has been completed, data processing can be carried out on the basis of the requirements of Art. 6 GDPR, in particular to safeguard legitimate interests in accordance with Art. 6 paragraph 1 letter f GDPR. Our interest then lies in the assertion or defense of claims.
How long will the data be stored?
Data of rejected applicants will be deleted after 6 months. In case that you have agreed that your personal data may be stored further, we will transfer your data to our talent pool. There the data will be deleted after two years. If you have been accepted for a position during the application process, the data will be transferred from the applicant data system to our personnel information system and will be deleted 10 years after the end of the employment relationship.
To whom will the data be transmitted?
After receiving your application your application data will be reviewed by our Human Resources Department. Suitable applications will then be forwarded internally to the department heads of the vacant position. After this, the further steps in your application process will be decided. In general, only the people that are relevant for the proper application process flow have access to your personal data.
Where will your data be electronically processed?
Data will be processed exclusively in data centers in the Federal Republic of Germany and/or within our in-house IT infrastructure.
Which rights do you have as “data subject”?
You have the right to receive information on which personal data is processed by us.
In the event of a request for information that is not done in writing, we ask for your understanding that we will first request evidence from you that confirms your identity.
You also have the right to correction or deletion or to restriction of processing, as far as you are legally entitled to do so. If statutory retention requirements conflict with your request for deletion, your data will only be deleted after the retention period has expired.
You also have the right to object to processing within the framework of legal requirements. The same applies to a right to data portability.
